Sam has worked in family law since 2022, having worked as a law clerk for a year prior to her admission to the High Court of New Zealand in September 2023.

Sam’s first three years practising family law were spent in Tauranga, New Zealand, where she worked on a variety of family law matters including matrimonial property division, dissolution of marriage, parenting and guardianship disputes, family violence matters, Family Court applications for decision making powers for persons lacking capacity, and the preparation of pre-nuptial agreements. Sam has represented clients in several parenting and guardianship matters before the Waitākere, Tauranga, Whakatāne and Ōpōtiki Family Courts in New Zealand.

 Sam moved to Sydney in June 2026 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in August 2026.
